Default 1988 mustang idles real bad.

hey there, i have gotten my 1988 2.3l mustang back up and running for awhile now. the only problem ive had with it since ive gotten it up and running was my idle situation. i put in a tps awhile ago, and set it, but it still manages to have idling issues. for example, i start my car up, and it hits 2 grand, and then maybe a minute later it will idle at 500-700 rpms but moving back and fourth. i am losing a ton of gas because of this, i can see how rich it runs when it does that. ok heres the tricky part. it may only do this for like a minute or two and then it idles at a grand for the rest of the time i drive it. ok but the same thing occurs everytime that i shut the car off. once i start it up, i have no choice but to wait for like five minutes everytime i start the car. after the car sits for five minutes, it does great, but its just annoying having to wait five minutes everytime i jump in my car. do you guys have any idea what this could be?

Sounds like a o2 sensor to me it would seem they have a tendency to do that change it and tell me what happens.

Clean the IAC and if that doesn't work, replace the ECT. It's in the lower intake between number 2 and 3 injectors.
