Default 2.3L Turbo swap, wiring and fuel concerns

I have searched for weeks and I cannot find anyone previously answering this.

I am stripping down an 88 TC to swap into my 87 LX Mustang and am coming across questions as I go. Mostly wiring and fuel related.

I have looked at the Stinger website wiring information yet I am not satisfied. Does anyone know a way to connect the turbo motor without disconnecting the EGR valve or the idle a/c control? Is there another way to connect the VAM and the octane selector?

Secondly, the stock boost controller has a wire feed to the harness as well as the BAP. My 87 has a Map sensor with essentially the same function as the BAP, is this how the BAP is omitted and if so, why is the Map sensor vacuum disconnected? I plan on using an aftermarket boost controller so I assume I do not need the connector for the stock one. Will the aftermarket controller come with all necessary wiring and vacuum lines?

Do I need to remove and keep the TC vacuum lines and Vacuum tree? There are many more vacuum lines on the TC than the NA motor, most attached to the Turbo itself.

My basic concern here is to get all the electronic equipment I need from this TC before I dump it which will be occurring soon.

Also, will I need a blow off valve with the stock turbo or is that something I will only need to consider when upgrading to a T3/T4.

My fuel concerns are this. Are the stock fuel and return lines and stock fuel rail from a 2.3 N/A car capable of handling the volume and pressure that the 255lb pump, associated fuel regulator, and 35lb injectors produce/need.

Thanks for any help guys.

Let me see if I can answer some of this........

-On the BAP/MAP issue, they are 2 different animals. What EEC are you using?
-On th eaftermarlket boost control, you need to research the product and the company. that is too vague of a question, sorry
-Get the tree from the TC
-Get the EEC and harness from the TC
-there is no requirement for a BPV or a BOV, but the life of the turbo will be diminished without it.
-the 225 lph pump doesn't really put out more pressure, just more volume. You should be good with what you have.

For the EEC it is an LA3. Do you have any brand suggestions for a boost controller?

From what I have seen in the wiring pages people have posted, I have yet to actually see a BAP involved in any of them. That is what confused me because it is obviously an essential part for the TC. Is this something I should take off as well?

I know the newer Mopar Turbo systems use the EGR as a way to lower the combustion chamber temp when it detects detonation. I doubt the Ford 2.3 can due that since it is Vacuum operated but it would still be nice to have.

Thanks dude, I'll take care of the fuel system this week.

ahhh, a little more research and I may have answered some of my wiring questions. Flemworld has a write up on how to still use the EGR.

http://www.flemworld.com/slug/howto/8790T.html#8890

Though most of his references are for 88 to 90 Mustangs. Mine is an 87, though very similar to 88 there are some differences.

ahh yes, and I stand corrected, the Ford EGR is electronically controlled as well.
