Exclamation Junk Yard Kings

Alright check it out, heres my situation..

Im driving a 1992 4-banger, and im sure by 2008 everyone realizes that there slow..

I wanna start building some horsepower into it to make a unique set up.. I have access to almost any car through junk yards and would prefer to gain as much from there as much as possible.

So the question is, what parts can i pull from the junk yard to add some ponies to my ride, outside of complete motor/trans swaps. I dont have the time or money for that.. I have reasonable knowledge as far as stock car racing goes, i work at a shop. but street cars i dont know much. Help?

you could start buy pulling a tube header from a 94 ranger and the roller cam fron the same. you could try swapping out rear ends from a gt to get some more torque.

Rebuild the front suspension and install a sway bar from a 5.0 Mustang. It'll feel like a new car! As far as driveshafts, the Ford Motorsports aluminum is an awesome piece. You may be able to find one on Ebay or some of the forums. The TC swap is the way too go. There are many articles out there on how to do it. Just spend some time searching. Here's an old writeup of mine that may help........................

Also, check out 'Thunderstang'. The project got put on hold about 2-1/2 years ago but I just recently put it back in the garage and have been working on it. Hope to have it running before summer is over. I'm actually pretty close now.................................

Can i just take the front suspension out of a 5.0 or is it different? What other parts can i take out of a 5.0 that will be of use?

Take the 5.0 spindles, then you can get bigger breaks with the 5.0 brakes.

The 5.0 struts will be a little stiffer and help, however i dont recomend going with the 5.0 Coil springs, it will raise the front end way up, if you find a fox with a v6, nab those coil springs. And have fun.

A 8.8 from a GT will be heavier. Might not be good idea. But the GT front will be better. Also got to a 94 95 I think front spindle etc. Some modification are needed from what I read this is better. Will convert you to 5 lug so need some Ranger axles. GT front and rear swaybars. As far as power 2.3 turbo way to go. Amazing differance.
