Default Aluminum Cylinder Heads

Has anyone ever used the aluminum cylinder heads that you can get from esslinger racing?

They are OK. The only thing is, they need machine work done to them to make them flow. $1200+ dollars and THEN machine work on top of that? Not this guy.

I called them up and they told me the 2400 roller cam loaded head came shipped ready to bolt on. What kind of machining is needed?

Besides the fact that they are aluminium and come from esslinger they still dont flow as good as they could if they where machined a little more thats what he means....

Correct. They are no better (flow wise) than a stock head.

If you want to go that route, get a bare head and send it to Boport for maching, and then have him set the head up with his hardware (cam, etc).

the "tech" at Esslinger told me the aluminium turbo head was rated at + 30 to 40 horse on an NA engine. So this particular head is merely an aluminium version of the stock head? They did not even compensate for the aluminium by decreasing the combustion chamber size? Even Mopar from the factory added to the combustion ratio when they went from their cast iron to aluminium heads.

This is correct, but the stock iron turbo head flows better than a n/a head.
Bo had surgery and is healing. Buisiness is on hold for a bit, but he will be back up and going soon.
