Default adapt 2.3 to chevy bellhousing

Hello i'm new to this site and have a question i want to adapt a 2.3 to a chevy bellhousing. now before anybody gets exited let me say this is a non-automotive aplication it will be going on a boat and i have previously done this with a 351 windsor and a tci adapter kit but now i want to build a smaller boat and use a 2.3 for better economy and the drive system is only available for chevy engines any help will be appreciated.

It would probably be easier to modify the 2.3 bellhousing to match the boat than to modify a Chevy bellhousing to match the 2.3.

I would try the 2.3 bellhousing first, looking to just elongate holes or drill new ones if possible.

Should that not work, consider making an adapter plate that will allow you to bolt everything up (this used to be the method everyone chose for these projects). This can be a chore, but its doable.
