Default Carborator problems

I have a 1986 Mustang LX 2.3 that the carborator leaks gas around the bottom plate,I was told to double up on the bottom gasket for a quick fix or by a spacer plate. It has been rebuilt I put a new gasket between the carborator and the intake. There are no cracks that I could see,I whent to a junk yard and found another one and rebuilt it and it leaks in the same place around the bottom plate all the bolts are tight. And no cracks in the lines.Any suggestions.

Get a holley 350 and put it on there. Its really simple, if you want a walkthrough ill help you. I actually made a writeup on it on Mustangii.net forums. But dont put a holley 500 on there, way too much CFM, i tried to get it to work and tune everyway possible, it wont work on a street car.

P.s. Yours shouldnt have a 1 barrel on it, from the factory it came with a about 300 cfm 2 barrel.
