Default temp guage still not working

hey still need some help, asked this question about 2 weeks ago. i changed the temp sensor and the guage still does not work. thought about the guage being stuck so i had a spare guage and i changed it out and it still does not work. i dont want to put an aftermarket guage in so this is where im at. any help would be appreciated

if you changed the coolant temp sending unit, and nothing changed.. my guess is that there is something wrong with the wire that goes to the cluster..

both the oil sending unit, big and oval, and the water temp, very small, have a single wire coming out of it

Does the gauge ever go bad? Mine is working but it starts out way down below the bottom indicator mark and only makes it a Quarter of the way up.
