Default MAF switch over

I did the conversion to the 4.6 MAF this weekend and my car ran like Crap. But it still ran. Was it the Vacume line not hooked up that made it run that way? I have no clue. So i switched it back over to the 2.3 set up.

I need to do this to mine too if you remeber me. What exactly did you do to your vacuume lines? Maybe the 4.6 maf is to big and maybe it will run better with the 3.8 you think?

How and what do you mean opening up the 2.3 MAF bigger?

I work in a machine shop, I'm an assistant toolmaker and we have the tools to bore, hone or cut the MAF out bigger, open the hole up some for example lets say the 2.3 MAF is 65mm I'll try cutting it out to 75mm. What I did with the 4.6 MAF was build a plate so I could bolt it on a 5.0 air cleaner box. But that didn't work like I had hoped.

Wouldn't you have to program the Sensor in the MAF to accept the bigger 3 in diameter pipe?

Honestly I have no clue. But being the inventive guy I am I'll try it and see if it works. But i do plan on chipping my car so that may work after all. I'll let you know for sure.
