ok yes you can do this swap. all you need to do is fine a carb intake manifold. and just remove the EFI manifold and bolt the carb in its place. that simple. now as for running what type of carb i cant help you with. sorry but im not a "master mine" when it comes to carbs.
and also i highly reccomend that you DONT run cherry bombs. they do not sound the greatest on these 2.3 litres. i would reccomend Flowmaster 40's. i have this and it sounds great and also alot of other people run 40's on their cars and they love it just as much as i do.

i have heard aloft of good things about the 40 series with our engines so i might do that. i know i have to have the intake manifold i have already found one and i also have found a holley 390 8007 carb. i was just wondering if any body had any tips on it or if it anybody had had any problems if they did it

You're going to have to figure out a lot more than just what muffler is cool.
Things to consider just off the top of my head.
Fuel delivery The electric EFI fuel pump is way too much for a carb. You might get away with adding a good regulator, but you'll probably have to come up with a way to get power to the pump after you yank out the computer. If you decide on a mechanical pump or an external electric pump for carbs you'll need to change the pickup assembly in the tank or you'll have a hard time trying to suck fuel through the unused EFI pump.
Ignition Since you're getting rid of the computer you're going to have to either find an old Duraspark distributor or shell out the cash for a non-TFI performance distributor.
yeah im going to be change most of the fuel system including the fuel lines and my mechanic has the right disributor and alot of spare parts from his pinto, both him and his son race 2.3l n/a and they have a hole spare engine im not going to use that engine but i will be able to get parts from it

also if you have and older engine block down on the right side under the distributor is a 3 bolt hatch that lets you gain access to the aux cam. you can run a mechanical diaphram fuel pump off of that.
