maybe partially grounding some were?
bad fuse or the wires needs need to be changed may have to much resistance.

is there a fuse in the fuse box that has anything to do with the tps? i dont think there is, but that's what he is getting at... i dont think its a fuse, but it could be the partially grounding wire..

The TPS works directly with the EEC. Yes, it is probably a wiring issue. I recommend that a wiggle test be conducted to see if the voltage readings change. I also recommend that you run a self test to see if it throws a code for the TPS.

My comment (sarcastic, yes) was aimed at the theory of a BAD fuse. A fuse either allows the current to pass through, or opens (fails) to prevent too much current from passing through the circuit. It can't allow and then not allow current to pass through the circuit, and allow it to pass again. It either works or it don't.

if its directly hooked to the EEC, then i would guess a bad wire inbetween the two

It could be a wiring issue. That is why I recommend the wiggle test to see if voltage jumps around.

It could also be a FUBAR TPS right out of the box. A new part doesn't always mean a good part.

haha no i effed up. "splice wire" means to t wires, not cut them completely off.
