I have a similar question. I bought a 86 TC as a doner car for my 88 coupe. Its has the Garrett T3/T4 turbo with an *internal waste gate*. Will this internal waste gate give me a satisfactory turbo sound when (if) I let off the gas, or should I go with a blowoff valve? I want to hear my turbo, so what should I be looking at going with?

Would a new T3/T4 turbo give me the option of a blowoff valve?
I searched on ebay for Garrett turbos but found very few that indicated if they had an internal wastegate or not. Many didn't mention one way or the other. So, I am at a loss.

Another question I have its what does the "T3/T4" stand for? does this mean its a T3 turbo with a T4 flange?

Seeing this is my first experience with a turbo engine, I am seeking knowledge from those more experienced than myself. Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
