Talking 2.3 to a 3.8

Just to start, I was unsure of where to post this at so i figured this would be an appropriate area considering the stang is currently a 2.3. Well, i got a wild idea to put a 3.8 V6 motor and tranny out of a 95 mustang and put it in my 91 Fox. I was wondering if anyone has done this before, I'm sure there has been, but i was wondering if anyone could give me any technical advice on what complications i may come accross and what parts i will need? Now, just to clarify, I will have the entire motor, tranny, ecu, wiring harness, and anything else i may need from the donor car. I want to do this both for practiclity of gas mileage and power to weight ratio. This could and I think will be an interesting build, only for the fact that when i got to crunching some numbers yesterday, with a few minor boltons, the 3.8 should be faster in this car than a stock 5.0? Now before any of the why?s, I'm getting everything and anything i need off the donor car for $150, so I can't complain. So please give me any advice on what you may have for me? Thanks

sounds cool, you will need alot of things to make it faster than a stock 5.0, weight is a little lighter but also 150 HP to 225HP, but would be a cool swap.

I thought 225 was just the cobra? 205hp for the 5.0.

I'm thinking about this swap if my 2.3 blows up. Mine is an auto transmission.

I like the idea of a v6 too.

Thought about it before decided to do the SHO swap. 3.8 would have been lot easier. Now near as can remember 94 95 is 140 Hp. But a 2001 is 210. So if doing it might as well use that motor. Now after 96 you will have to send computer off to defeat the antitheft part. What I was told went into effect after 96 model. Got local guy son he just dyno 464 at rear wheel with 3.8 turbo at if remember correct 15psi. Same guy would be glad to give info if you decide to do it. PS windstar intake flows better and give more hp but need cowl hood. Good Luck
