Default ditching ps pump-also 88 AOD

First time postin', Ill give it a shot. I have an 80 hatch with 88 engine/aod trans-both rebuilt with less than 1200 miles. Has 72 mustang 2bbl carb on a ported 77 mustang II intake with a ported head and a straight pipe. Its still dog slow.

Anyhow the powersteering pump siezed and Im tired of dickin with it, so does anyone know what size belt to use just spin the alternator/waterpump?

And with my AOD is there a tq convertor lock-up switch I need to connect or something? Its like driving a 5 speed but an auto.... right off idle tq. 0-20 seems like a battle in itself. Maybe I ought to do a blow through with the merkur cpe t3 I have sitting here...

Thanks!

Just measure, by rapping a piece of string around the pulleys correctly and then straighten string and measure length it took to do so. But you need to replace your rack w/ a pinto manual rack or an aftermarket manual rack. Your other one could sieze up!
