Default Is a harness hard to take out?

I have an 88 mustang lx that is having an 86 t-bird 2.3l turbo put in.

It seems that I have to have the harness as well as the computer from the t-bird and nothing else, correct me if im wrong.

If so is how difficult is it to take out the the harness and where is the cpu?

Dude you also need to take the VAM (vane-air meter)!

Yes, the ECM is behind the passenger kick panel / glove box. I just removed one from a 91 Mustang a few days ago. The removal will be easier than the install. The blower housing is kind of in the way for an easy install. Also, the plastic retainer for the ECM will have to be removed until the harness is threaded through the firewall.

You may need to take some of the sensors from the Bird as well, just in case they are not the same.

The actual under hood are is simple, just a lot of retainers to yank. Take some pictures of the various sensors and electrical connectors or use a video camera so that you can refer to them later if you run into trouble.

And as BKR said, you will need to take the T-Bird air box and VAM or get one from an SVO Mustang.
