I just got my 2.3 turbo Mustang LX up and running. I have a couple of problems that I am trying to work out. The first is that when I am in very low boost (about 1-2 PSI) and the throttle is open very little, for some reason the car starts to jerk and it sounds like the turbo is getting compressor surge. It doesn’t happen that much, usually just when I am going up a hill the engine needs a couple of pounds of boost to help maintain a speed up the hill. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be causing it. The other problem I am working is a gas mileage problem. At least I think it is a problem. I was getting 18MPG hwy, but I have since figured out that I had a small Vane Air Meter with the computer for a larger one. I have corrected that by installing a large VAM. Now I am getting 22 MPG Hwy, but that still seems low to me. I have a wideband O2 and gauge that I am going to install as soon as I get some time off from work. I hope that tells me a little. Does anyone have any idea what else I could check and also what numbers should I be looking for on my wideband once I get it set up. If anyone wants to check out the buildup of my 2.3 I started a site to track my progress. Its more for me to I can look back on it. http://www.23mustang.com
