I got a 2.3L 93 mustang lx and my e-brake light is acting really weird..

It constantly stays on whenever the car is on and the only time I ever see it cut off is when im accelerating from a complete stop, then once i hit 4th gear it cuts back on and stays on for another week or so; going back to just staying on then deciding to do the weird accelerating thing again.. I've only used the e-brake with my car like 3 or 4 times so I don't know whats the deal.

I figured id get up on here and ask you guys for some help because when it comes to this type of thing i dont know where to start to fix it.. its just annoying.

check your brake fluid it maybe low

mentioning that i go through a bottle of brake fluid in like 3-4 weeks depending on how much i drive, that might be it.. i think i have a leak

up underneath your center console their should be some type of switch that get depressed when you pull up on the hand brake check or replace that switch to make sure that it is working properly

if you do have a leak it could be in a few places 1. The master brake cylinder itself
2. One of your brake lines
3. One of your pistons in your calipers or your drums has a bad gasket and needs to be replaced.
