Default 1987 2.3l mustang problems! please help!

okay the car is a 1987 2.3l lx with and auto trans and roughly 92k miles. now let me explain my situation. When i first start my car and let it idle down it cuts off with no hesitation. when i fire it back up it does the same exact thing. in order to drive i have to start it up and imidiatly put it into drive. even then if i let off the gas it cuts off. after it gets to normal operating temperature its fine...until i come to a stop light or stop sign it starts huffing thick black smoke and idling very roughly at about 800-900 rpms and when i take off from the sign or light the pedal sinks to the floor and the car starts huffing more smoke untill it randomly launches. ALSO the car is getting roughly 15mpg (car usually idels around 1200rpms) . other than this the car drives like a dream, other than some minor trans issues, but i dont think they are revelant to my problem.

NOW! let me tell you all ive done to try and rectify the problem. i did a basic tune up, plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter airfilter. and still it has the problem mentioned above. please and help will be greatly appreciated!

Default New problems...

Okay, so i put a new iac module and valve on and the car idles when you first start it up. But NOW when i drop it in drive it doesnt cut off it just looses all power. when i hit the gas it doesn't respond it just sits and idles and untill it just kicks and starts going. And the problem where i pull up to stop lights is still happening. i think it could be that the timing is off but im not sure. it seems like its just flooding out and getting to much fuel. ive been told its the tps so i might swap that too. if anyone has and advice please don't hesitate. it feels like im just throwing parts at it and getting more and more problems.e
