You mean 17"x8" wheels, right? You will possibly get some inner fender rubbing, unless you install steering rack limiters. They're just little plastic/teflon clips that install on the ends of the steering rack. You'll have to get them from the dealership or Late Model Restoration Supply and pull the rack boots loose to install them. After pulling the boots loose, turn the wheels all the way to the left and install the left limiter. Repeat your work on the right, after steering the wheels to the right. Re-install the boots with new ties (I use two long zip-ties to hold them on). And, put those wheels on. The wheel openings are going to be a tad tight, as the '91-'93 Stangs got wider openings for the 16" wheels the GTs got.
I've got chrome 16"x7" Pony wheels, with 225/50R16s, on my 2.3L. There's about 1/2" of clearance between the tire and the frame. The limiters gave another 1/4".
If you use the limiters, remember the turning radius will be greater.
