Default turning a carb manifold to efi

i wanna go efi in my 2.3 but i dont wanna go through the junkyards to find an efi manifold, but i got a 5.0 upper and lower so i'm tossing the idea around about making an adapter to turn my carb manifold into efi by making a square box that sits on top like a carb would but make it so i could bolt the 5.0 throttle body to it then drill out the bosses for the injectors and hook up a megasquirt ... and also im eventually gonna turbo it so i was wondering if i run 2 sets of the stock mustang injectors if it could handle the boost and how much it would handle... i figure that u could just add them wich would be 38#s and thats about what a turbo 2.3 needs... any tips or opinions would be appreciated

Sounds like a lot of unneccessary, pointless fabwork versus a trip to the junkyard ( or even message board classifieds) that might net you the manifold, fuel rail, injectors, injector harness, and fuel lines. Adapting a 5.0 throttle body to the factory 2.3L upper isn't that big of a deal.

yeah but money is a bit of a problem and i already got all the stuff i'd need... plus that it'd be different but i have no idea where it'd be on a performance standpoint

Holley makes a fuel injected carburetor, as in, it looks like a carburetor but it has computer controlled injectors inside. Holley Performance Products Marine Pro-Jection Throttle Body Injection*700-21
Might be really expensive though.

If money's a problem, wait until it isn't before you do all this.

Different isn't always better. However, it is often worse. I can be different by putting the Briggs & Stratton from my riding mower in between the shock towers of my Mustang instead of a 2.3T or a 5.0. I can do the Briggs swap because I have everything I need. I'd be better off with the 2.3T or the 5.0, but money's an issue right now.

See where I'm going with this? Just chill and stash a couple of bucks here and there. Keep an eye out for good deals. This stuff pops up on ebay and over on Turbo Ford all the time.

Good luck!!
