Default 1991 Mustang Transmission Swap

My transmission in my 91 and is slipping 2nd gear and i don't know if this is normal for a 4 cly. but at 65 is running about 3200 rpms....I think i'm just going to swap the tranny out but before i just went with another A4LD or is there a better auto that bolts straight up or should i try converting it to a manual and how much work would that be just past putting the transmission in?

Thanks for the help...i've tried to do a little research but really can't come up with anything i've even seen different sites say my transmission has 3 gears and then on another it says 4....lol so...i don't know if the one that says 3 isn't counting the overdrive or what...please help a newb lol

thanks

it is a ton of work.. possible, but not without a donor car.. there isnt another tranny that just bolts up.. without some work..

Thanks i found that site earlier after i had already posted...it does seem like a lot of work...i'd need a warm weekend or a warm garage...is it easier to put the other tranny in that dosn't bolt straight up?
