Default 1993 Mustang Front Strut Replacement

I don't have any past experience with changing struts. I need to know the steps in order and any special tools I need. I've bought the struts already. I have faith that you guys can walk me through this new experience. If it matters it's a 2.3 engine.
thanks,

The fronts all you have to do is jack the car up remove the top three bolts around the strut which are in your engine compartment (do not remove the center bolt just the ones around it) after you have done that there are two lower bolts remove the bottom one first then the top this will make it easier then put the new strut in the same way you took the old one out by putting on the top bolts first then the bottom ones.

i havent removed the backs struts so im not going to tell you when i dont know its safer that way.

Do you need a spring compressor tool for that?

its not bad to remove the three bolts just make sure you have a breaker bar in case (you can rent one from autozone if you dont have one) so you dont have many problems and no you dont need to remove the calipers and rotors just the tire.

Yea it aint bad at all to change front struts. You should be able to compress it with just your hands, we do it all the time with my racecar. FYI the top nuts are 18mm size socket.

I had to use an air gun to get my top strut nut off when I changed out my springs...

Thanks everyone this is the best mustang autoforum I've been involved with, all the advice you gave me was on the money, those were the tightest nuts and bolts I have EVER seen. But I worked 10.5 hrs and 9. hrs at my job in 2 days and still got the job done (and I'm 55) Thanks again NOTE: the tire place up the street wanted $160.00 for shocks and $210.00 for labor. Thanks to you guys my total investment was less than $100.00
Many, many thanks!!!

my cars: 1993 mustang lx 2.3 I'm 2nd owner ( 1 month) 112,00 miles
1995 mustang GT 5.0 Both are automatics (I'm old, ha,ha)
1997 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0 automatic
1999 mustang 3.8 (I think) automatic
If I can figure out how, I'll upload or is it download pictures. ALL my Mustangs are NOW in excellent condition, and very pretty. Thanks.

Just one thing. The torque specs on those nuts is about 160 lbft, that is why they are so difficult to remove. Most shops will just use an impact wrench to be done with it.

I wish I'd read this sooner. I've been in Greensboro all week and could have given you a hand in the evenings.

The shocks out back are even easier. Cheaper too!
