Default 91 Mustang Lowering Kit

I was looking at a few kits for my car and my buddy said it was stupid to pay that much to lower the car when you can just buy...he called them "spring clamps"? he said he had done this to a truck and it worked fine....has anyone else heard about doing this and i'd imagine they can't be too healthy for the car?

there are two ways to do them

1. cut the springs only if you want it to look good not for road courses or hard steering
(not recomended)

2. just buy the kit

i was wondering myself if you just bought the spings then put the stock struts in the car would that work since were on the subject?

Just buy the kit and put them in yourself. I think there like $200 from UPR w/ free shipping. If I can do it, anyone can do it...

And I still have the stock struts in mine. I think I'm gonna get some KYBs or something in the spring though. I heard you should put new struts/shocks in when you lower your car, plus they'll probably perform a little better too than what I have now.
