Default DIS ignition conversion back to using distributor?

can the 2.3 blocks that came factory with the distributor hole plugged with a sensor for the DIS igniton be converted back to duraspark? what needs to be done? also they sell a spacer adapter plate for the efi 2.3 intake manifold to convert back for carb conversion,so for this i would need is a duraspark distributor from an early 80-84 2.3? thanks! love the 2.3 have three efi 2.3 mustangs just want to experiment with carb for simplicity

You can drop a distributor right down in the hole in the block and be fine. The trouble you'll run into is trying to use the dual plug head and the intake manifold for that head. The ports are arranged so that a distributor won't fit under the number 1 intake runner. I guess they decided to make use of the space they freed up.

You can use any pre-'91 head/intake combo and be ok. They leave room for the distributor. The pre-91 manifold is the one the efi to carb spacer is made for anyway.
