We have an 86 lx with the 2.3 in it. Was wondering if anyone has done a 289 swap? If so just a few details about it, what all you had to change? Will the rear hold up? Stuff like that... Anything is much appreciated before we start our project! Thanks

The swap is not hard, its the parts hunt that can be a challenge. A donor V8 car is the way to go.
There are several post on this site, just do a search, that cover this specific topic, not to mention doing a search on the web, most give pretty much step by step.

Thanks for the help, we pretty much know how we are gonna do everything. I was just curious as to any problems anyone ran into while actually doing the swap...
