Default Can the... be modified too?

Ok so I know this is a little off topic but I want to know if the Ford Ranger 2.3l 5speed's can be modified using Mustang part's? or Modified just like the Mustang?

My reasion for wondering is because that someone want's to trade me a really nice 1990 Ford Ranger 2.3L 5speed for my 2.3L Mustang, I am suriously thinking about doing it but I don't know, I really like the truck because of the condition it is in but I don't know if I should or not? Is it faster than my car stock?

Are they faster than the 88 hp mustang with a cai and a cherry bomb exaust? also are they lighter?

Faster? A 2.3L Ranger isn't fast nor is it meant to be. The Mustang is lighter and would hook up better. If you want speed then you need to get a 5.0L Mustang or the rare and valuable 1985/86 turbo Mustangs. 5.0L are ultra cheap cars, get about 20 mpg combined, and are fast. A CAI and glasspacks aren't going to do squat for a 2.3L.

I know a few guys who own rangers and they complain about having the 4.0 because they wish that they had the 2.3 4 banger so they could do the mustang turbo install and get some power to the wheels. but they want a quick truck, not a faster car. If you want speed, then go with the mustang. A turbo 2.3 will give a 5.0 a run for its money. If you happen to have a 2.3 ranger then bolt on a turbo and you'll go much faster than you did before in a truck.
