Default 1986 svo 1989 2.3 flywheel question

Hi guys i have a simple question .i have an 1986 svo 2.3 engine that i am installing in my 1989 2.3 n/a coupe.the question is are the manual flywheels the same for the 1986 svo and the 1989 n/a 2.3. Thanks

No. While they're the same diameter, the SVO flywheel is drilled and pinned for a slightly larger clutch and pressure plate than the N/A flywheel. They'll interchange, but you'll have to use a clutch that matches the flywheel.

so i can get a flywheel and clutch kit for a 1989 2.3 and it will bolt on the 1986 svo 2.3 engine.

Yes and vice versa. You can get a clutch kit and flywheel for an SVO and it'll bolt to an 89 2.3
