Default i have a question about the 1993

im trying to put my new head unit in but i cant figure out how to take the old one out. wats holding it in place and how do i get to it? cause ive looked and i cant see nothing thats holding it in place. i have a 1993 fox body. if u could help please do. im trying to have this done today lol

If I remember correctly. The radio should have two holes on the face on each side of the unit. You have to get a wire coat hanger (easiest!) and form it into a "U" shape. You will need two. Form it to fit into the holes in each side. Push them in and it should release the clips on the inside and the unit should slide right out.

They sell the little tools for removing the radio at your local auto parts store-they're cheap too. The coat hanger trick will only work if it is the right size metal wire to go into the 4 holes, if you don't insert them too far, and if you push on the radio from the back to pop it out of the dash. Mine was in there very tight so it took some work with the u-hook tools I have.

ok well i tried the coathanger and it worked lol. now i got my new pioneer head unit in. thanks for the help
