Default I have an idea!!!!

Im back again lol. i bought my 93 LX 4 cyl. mustang 2 nights ago and ive been thinking about swapping the 2.3 liter engine with a 5.0 liter engine. now i no im gonna have to change the transmission and exhaust but i was already planning on doing that anyways lol. but my question is will a 5.0 fit in my car? if not is there any v8 engines i could get that will fit? like a svt cobra? if it will fit where is the best place to buy rebuilt engines at? theres not too many places around where i live to look for one. hope someone can help me out

The 5.0 will fit fine.I think there is a good thread on that swap allready here,search and check it out.

There is so much space under the fox body hoods that I bet you could just about fit a V12 in there. Ive got a 2.3 and the engine only takes up like half of the space in there. And anyways, the bodies for the 2.3 and 5.0 are exactly the same (other than the difference between the notch, hatch and vert but those have nothing to do with the front of the car). It'll fit nicely.

duh it'll fit, just about any engine will fit. Theres a thread somewhere about a guy putting a Viper engine in a Fox4. The 2.3 and 5.0 use the same K-member even. I'd also get the front suspension from the car the engine comes from cause I have seen some one say that 2.3 springs are a tad bouncy.

NOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T do it, if you want a 5.0L then go buy one. There a 2.3l for a reasion.

im goin for it cause the 5.0 is one of my dream cars and i want to be able to do all the work to it. so its kinda like me building the car from the ground up. and since its my only vehicle its gotta get me back and forth for now lol
