to be honest ive only done minor adjustments to distributors such as when its close but not perfect, but id suggest gettin the timing light on there first just to get an idea as to how far you have to go, then make the adjustment. the bolt you kind of just have to go for it, but i think strap you heard about is just a metal clamp about an inch wide that should be at the base of the distributor.once you got it loose, if youre lucky you can get away with just turning the distributor itself without taking it out of the block. this is what i usually do and it tweaks it into place, but like i said ive only done this with minor adjustments. i apologize if i havent been helpful but goodluck with it! |
