Default Help with ammeter

Has anyone wired in an aftermarket ammeter in their car? where should i hook my wires up to? i cant get it to read anything

I beleive you are asking how to hook up a AMP METER ??? If so you have to cut and run the big output wire from the altenator to your amp gauge then back to the other end where you cut it. Any reason you wanted a amp meter overa voltage meter ??? Voltage meter is much more easy to hook up.

Agree. Plus way I understand will need to run large wires thru it and back. Got to deal with this sooner or later with my MGB 2.3t conversion. Using a 86 turbocoupe wiring. It had amp meter but doing a 3G to it. Too early in project to think of that. Like already pointed out use voltmeter.
