They did come close once, but the outrage was so great that Ford kept the fox-body a few more years and called the FWD car the "Probe".
Just a little history for ya.

Originally posted by BlackKnightRace exactly, but my point stands, front wheel drive mustangs.. Yet, hell you never you they might make them in the next couple years.
Yep, and when they do, well, that's okay, Chevy will be bringing the Camaro back around 2010, not too long to wait for a real car!
I'm serious, if Ford went FWD on the Mustang, and Chevy brought back a RWD Camaro.... I'd have to go with the Camaro even if it had a 5hp Briggs and Stratton underhood!

Well if Ford went FWD with the stang, I definatly wouldn't buy a new one, but that doesn't mean I'd get a Camaro, I still have my 90 5.0 and there are plenty of other rear wheel drive stangs out there.

Well that's your problem, not mine.
I have a right to like what I like, and I like both Fords and Chevys.

Actually, I already own a Chevy, and it has over 500,000 miles on it... and it's NEVER left me stranded, nor my grandfather or father before me.

Originally posted by BlackKnightRace how many times has it been re built?
The engine was rebuilt at 375,625 miles, after over 22 years of faithful service, just for "peace of mind"
The transmission (a TH-350) was rebuilt after 426,432 miles, when 2nd gear went out while climbing a steep hill with a full bed of firewood. The truck didn't leave me stranded then, I actually drove it 40 miles home, and then 25 more miles to the transmission shop.
This truck still serves me faithfully to this day, I recently installed a double-roller timing set, and I'm in the process of going with an aluminum 4-bbl. intake manifold, and an Edelbrock 4-bbl.
I'm actually going to retire that truck from daily-driving/hauling/work soon. She's been in the family quite a few years, has some damage from a wreck I was in a few months ago (all cosmetic) and I've got too many good memories with it to risk tearing it up on a daily basis anymore, so she's getting a full frame-off restoration as soon as my Mustang is complete enough to get it out of the garage.
