1979 mustang Newer Strut differences

Default 1979 mustang Newer Strut differences
I am running a 79 mustang 2.3L and i replaced the struts with newer mid 80's 5.0L struts. I noticed/ and have read up alittle that the newer strut is about 1/2 " taller.

The strut sticks out the top of the struts mount an EXTRA 1/2" when tightened down. So i need to either make a bushing/spacer on top of the strut mount or possibly buy a bushing/spacer.


Do they sell these!?!? or has anyone made them?
