Default What cam or head to get

i have a 93 2.3l with a t5, along with 4 other stangs that all are signifigantly faster than this 4cyl. Im trying to boost up the hp but dont have alot of money to pour into the car. I was wondering what cam i could get to really boost the hp. Also ive heard that you an get a dohc head off of a volvo 2.3 that gives it more hp. What would be my best bet to improve performance of the two (or any other mod that i can pull of inexpensivly)

The Volvo head needs machining to work perfectly. Cheaply done a Ranger cam and exhaust header from I think 94 back. Theres a intake you can buy to fit a larger throttlebody on it. Theres not much you can do with it without goin carb or turbo. YOu can have the intake and exhaust milled because the head is different than older 2.3's and the D-port doesnt breath as good. Remove air silencer or get a CAI.

the cam thats in the car is not much different than the one in the ranger, we just want the best bang for the buck we can get for the little motor. We heard that there was a specific vovlo head that would just slip on there and give a hp boost

get a 268 comp cams cam. I put one in my efi 2.3 and the power gain is very noticable. Plus it dosen't sould like its going to blow up whe you rev it. I strongly sugest it

Boport Motorsports has a few good cams that will increase power. From Stock to Wild. 15hp to Who knows, and they go in the stock head. Thought they do cost 300+ dollars.

whats the difference between the years. Anything. i know it has to do with followers or something. Do you have any knowledge about that. and as for an CAI i have a cone hooked up to some PVC pipe up to my throttle body. I didnt wanna shell out 50-100 bux for a manufactured CAI. I heard that PVC gets hot quik. What do you have.?

Ranger cams after 89 have roller followers. Less friction = more HP.
