Exclamation Got a question about upper intake's?

Ok, so I'm curious about witch upper intake's are better? On my 90 Ford Ranger there is like a split port upper intake? Not sure what kind it is? But whitch one is better? I have seen the 89 Mustang is different then the ford ranger upper intake.

So yeah, maybe there all the same, not sure. Whitch one has more power or witch one produces more torque. I am just really curious why they are all different.

Also do any of them have different throttle body's? Like do any other year's of mustangs have a bigger throttle body. I know that my ranger doesn't have cruise so it's ok if it won't work if I switch throttle bodies. So if anyone has any help let me know please. I really would like to hear any information on the upper intake's and throttle body's because I am trying to squeeze out some more power with out turboing the ranger.

You're stuck with what you've got. The Upper intakes are not interchangeable. Even if you swapped out the lower half to match the upper you'll run into issues.

Funny you use the term "squeeze" That's the easiest way to get power out of a 2.3.

Trying to get a significant amount of power out of a street-driven 2.3 is like hiring a guy with 1 lung to blow up balloons all day.

Well like I said, I do not want to install a turbo on it. I do how ever know know that squeezing power is about all I have to do, because I have no money, I don't work because I am going to school. I know that I can make a 2.3L faster than what they are stock, because when I first got my 2.3L Mustang it ran a 26.4 somthing, When I sold it, it ran a 19.5 lol still slow, but more power than what it came with. But you'r correct.

Ranger header is a help. As far as throttle body can put a 5.0 on it. But even on a turbo there is debate if helps. Some yes some no. Here is link to pictures how I done it on mine. Probably won't help on a NA. Just look around in my photobucket for more pictures. You do have to port the upper intake. There is a picture of that there also. Pictures by mgman75 - Photobucket

It was opened all the way up, my car was very worn out. Had a lot of problem's. I had simply added some bolt on's and ported it alot and got alot more power out of it with out rebuilding it. I have no idea why it was so slow, maybe bad shifting. Also I did have a bad through out bearing.
