I have been noticing over the past few months that something was wrong with the tach. I dont think the problem is in the tach i think its an electrical that the tachometer runs off of but not sure. thre are a couple of parts that are responsible for the tach operation and i think they may be needing replacement

any help at all would be appreciated

When I got my car, mine did not work. It was throwing two codes at me, one for the EDIS Module and the other for a dead coil pack. Both of them could do this. The coil pack was $50something at autozone and the EDIS was about $130. So see if you can do some diagnostic work to it. Like is it running rough when it happens? just see if you get spark out of both coils. And if you have a friend with the same car see if they will swap the part into theirs or their part into yours and see if it does anything.
