Default 1992 LX Problems

I just bought my first mustang and I love it but I have a few questions. First when i bought it i noticed that it had the wrong battery in it. me and friend changed the battery and we noticed the power wire to the battery was in terrible condition. I bought a new one and when installing it on the Starter Relay (mounted on the drivers side inner fender) the positive relay post broke. So i bought a new starter relay and installed it. We put everything back together. But instead of putting the positive lead on the positive post we put it on the negative post. We did not realize this until after we tried hooking the negative lead to the positive post (when we connected it it burned a fused link in two). Can anyone let me know what the fused link on the starter relay goes to. It is 14 gauge wire, fuse linked and it is green in color.

After we got the car running (fused link not connected) the wipers will not turn off. I finally found the wiper fuse and removed it. Would this have anything to do with the green Fuse Link not being connected under the hood.

One more thing. The taillight, parking lights, etc fuse keeps burning up. I have put 2 new ones in today and burned them both up. Any advice would be nice and thank you guys.

yeah alot of fuses of random things are connected im not sure if yours are but i would be willing to think that it might be messing a relay up if the fuse is not there
