hey whats up everyone.i have a 1992 lx 2.3 and my car is real sharp and excellent,except for a lil problem.i seen this guys post on here somewhere and cant seem to find it because he has the same problem i get.sometime my car rides and drives fine and sometime it loses power and engine shakes a lil..then goes back to ridieng fine.sometime my car stalls out.so i figured i had bad spark plug wires..put them in and still same thing.i checked all the wires and 2 wires out of 8 dont have spark..could it be those 2 spark plugs or would i need a new igniton coil??vac line is fine so i know it's not that.can some ppl give me some help?
well i dont have a distributor,so i know it's not that,just have a ignition coil and i just looked at it and out of 8 spark plugs only 2 wires aint giving spark,so i assume its not the coil because if it was it wouldnt be giving spark to all 4 wires that are pluged into it.so im gonna go for a tune up and see what happens from there..if not then ill let you guys know and you's can help me.thankx dude
Is dead spark out of same coil pak? And yes can go partially bad. Have you run codes to see? From what I read fairly common to go bad. Does tach act up? Have read that is sign of one going bad. Hope this helps.
i have odviously 2 ignition coils..4 wires per...well all the wires give spark except 2 of them.i took them all off while the car was running and 2 does not have any spark at all,so im takeing it those 2 spark plugs are bad.and yes,my tach does act up.does not even move dude..lol so i dont know what im tach'n at.so whould that mean?thankx dude.
well what motor do you have? the 2.3 that you asked about is an ohv 4 cylinder and the two coil packs with 4 wires each you described is a 4.6 mod motor so figure out which engine you have then ask
sorry about that..it's 2.3 which has 1 ignition coil,but has 2 post if you want to call it with 4 spark plug wires on each because i have 8 spark plugs..2 per cylinder.
ok,now earlier today i was getting ready to leave and about a mile my car started acting up again,so i happen to open the hood and freakin realized that my cat convertor was glowing orange..said wtf..so now i guess because seeing how i have 2 bad spark plugs makes the cat clogged and which glows orange..i mean theres a few other ways also for a clogged cat but so does anyone have some idvise.im makeing a appointment monday fora new cat then a few days after getting my new spark plugs put in.would my car still be acting the way it was with a new cat??lemme know guys
