Question Piston, and connecting rod suggestions, for 1990 2.3L bottom end.

Hey all, Im Overhaulin my 1990 bottom end, I need some suggestions. I was lookin at Speedway motors at there performance line up and came to thinking the Kieth black pistons (5.205" rod length) Matched with the Ford super stalker 5.205" rods would be a good combo,

Has anyone have experience in this combo, or suggest a different set up.

I wouldnt mind doin the 5.7" Rod conversion, either. But I have to machine the crank to accept 2.00 rod bearings,

is there a big difference between the 5.700" Rods and pistons to the 5.205" rods and pistons?

Im tryin to get the most out of this engine with out turbo or nitrous, Just 110 Octaine.

Any suggestions or commets appreciated, Thanks in advance.

i have not used long rod combinations, but have tried alot of other naturally asperated performance parts for the 2.3. I found that keith black forged pistons did well as far as heat is concerned, but cylender clearance has to be greater to account for the expansion of the forged pistons. In my case this made my car slightly burn oil until it was up to operating tempurature. I have had excelent luck with stock rods, hypercast pistons, and extra strength rod bolts. However, 110 octane sounds high. I ran 10 to 1 compression and could just run on pump gas. Keep in mind, with the 2.3, if you build too extreme they are not real streetable. Mine is fast, but very unreliable. hope this helps.
