whats everyones thought on having straight through exhaust on a 92? like hollowed out cat and resinator and no muffler?

i honestly dont like it, it gives it sort of an amateur sound.. i dont know how to put it, i have a cat with a flowmaster 40 series on it, and i love it.. if you can get away without having a cat on it, i would do that and a nice chambered muffler.. Straight through exhaust doesnt show these car's good qualities..

well i have a hollowed out cat and had a thrush on it. was thinking about trying it to see if there is any power gains

Watch it on some engines. Don't know on a 2.3. Some engines need backpressure. Bodyman I know has kitplane with Subaru motor {straight pipes about 2 feet long out bottom of engine}. Would not rev past 4000rpm. Welded in 7/8" washers in pipe and rpm's are ok.

It would be way too loud and sound like a ticket waiting to happen.Also you will not gain performance by doing it.

i wouldn't say that, well it depends where you live, i drove my car with about a two foot tube off the manifold.. that was loud, and nothing ever happened there
