i have the chance to buy a 1986 LTD and was wondering what including the 5L i could use in the swap? I want to put the 5L in my 1992 LX, also is there anything else that i will need to swap them?

hi, is that a efi multiport fi. or a cfi? looks like a carb? are you going to run fuel inj. or a carb? the 86 5.0 will be a low hp engine non roller cam, big G

Its a foxbody you can use anything you want. Hell you could put the front clip on it if you wanted.

a LTD is NOT a fox body. a ltd 2 IS a fox body. a LTD is a crown victoria. that car should be cfm (throttle body). i wouldn't do it myself cause it would be a dog, but you'll need 5.0 mustang motor mounts, foxbody rad hoses, and use the fox 2.3l rad. if you're using the automatic you'll need a shifter cause a 2.3 uses a rod system and 5.0 uses a cable system, so the shift pattern is reversed. park is first, first is park. and you'll need the ecm and wiring. keep in mind a crown has a different cam than a 5.0 h.o., so swapping to a efi system will not work with mustang 5.0 efi ecm system. ( also a 5.0 h.o. efi is multi point and a efi crown is batch fire)

so it was a ltd2...they never came with a 5.0 only 2.3l and 3.8
