Default Lite steel flywheels

Does anyone have experience running the lightweight (thinner than stock) flywheels/clutch assys on a 2.3 with a manual trans and an internal slave cylinder? I know there is a longer throwout bearing available for the externally operated release levers, but I know nothing about those trannys with the internal hydraulics.

I don't believe the clutch is hydraulic in the 2.3 transmission.

I am not certain what a ranger uses...it might be the T-5 but I don't remember.

Have you checked eBay for a flywheel? You can find crazy **** on there, although I have been looking for a flywheel myself.

Well, when you fix the clutch you can show that stupid Geo who's boss. I hate those Geo Storm ricer cars!

It sounds like you are doing the same thing I am, flywheel and clutch! I have never driven one of these with a new clutch before, it should be fun.

YEa i got a Gripforce clutch from ebay and the guy i bought it from (i guess) took the pilot bearing from the kit and resold it to me. I was like DUDE. but i also got the clutch for 35 bux. 54 withshipping. IXXBC are you doing it yourself.??? ima take mine to the shop. This guy is gonna do it for 200. What type of rear end do you have. Im pondering on getting this 8.8 2:73 rear end from this guy down the road. Do you think it will pull alot mre or be too heavy.

Now that you mention it, I don't know what my rear end is.

Isn't that rear end specifications for an SVO? I imagine it would be a little more pull.

I am doing the clutch / flywheel myself, I know a guy with a pretty solid shop in his back yard.

Look under there and see it there is a little metal tag still attached to the rear cover back there. It will have the gear ratio on it.

Nope. The '84 SVO had a 3.45, the 85-86 had a 3.73. Both were a 7.5 rear.

The 8.8 did not come out until MY '87.

Nope its a 2:73. The guy opened it up and you can see the numbers on it. Hes selling it pretty cheap but i thought the gears would suk and i thought itd be too heavy 4 me. If i learn how to change the gears i wouldnt mind buying it. but he has a 7.5 rear end outta a 94 or 95 and hes gonna sell it to me for 50 bux.its a trak lok too.
What is the difference between trak lok, rear slip differential, and posi.??????that has got me stumpt.

It's easy to spot a trac lok. There are 2 clutch packs and there is a big S shaped spring in the center. A limited slip is similar, but a posi-trac is different.
