I would first remove the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve and clean it thoroughly. I sprayed FI cleaner in mine and let it sit overnight. The crap that came out of it was unbelievable!

Then start it up and set the base idle at 750 RPM after it is good and warmed up. To do this, unplug the IAC and then set the idle.

What do you mean "runs rough at high RPMs"? Please be more specific.

As for upgrading the injector size.....unless you upgrade the EEC to say, an LA or LB series, you are just going to run fat rich and will perform worse. I would get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator first. Set the fuel pressure at 38 with the vacuum connected and go from there.
The stock fuel pumps (you should have 2 now), when performing correctly, should support up to 300 HP.

Sorry I just got back to this one.....

The IAC is attatched to the throttle body. It's purpose is to bypass the throttle body blade so the car doesn't stall when the plate snaps shut when you let off the gas. It also helps control idle conditions. Make sure you get a new gasket for it as well. They are still available at Ford if need be.
The 84 and 85 SVO has 2 fuel pumps. One in the tank, one ounted on the passenger side frame rail. It is possible teh yours has been converted to a single pump set-up by a previous owner.

Again, what do you mean by "runs rough at high RPMs"? be specific
