ok...thats def enough info to go a tad further. Since you are stick I would run 3.73 if you do much highway driving. Since you're car is all stock you DEF don't need bigger injectors, in fact as I mentioned you are a long ways off of that.
Avoid much of anything off of dirt track 2300s because they run high rpms and high compression. They shave the head beyond use and run cams that would be horrible in a heavy turbo car. Yes the small block chevy style valves are what we run in our stuff but they aren't exactly chevy valves.
The head that was on the 87-88 engine is a bit less likely to be cracked around the exhaust vavlve seats. If you still have that pull it off and send the head, intakes, and manifold if you want to stick with that to
- BOPORT Racing Heads - Fremont CA He is the man and can really really bring these cars to life. You'll also want to AT MINIMUM a 3" downpipe which I have several of for your car. I recommend a full exhaust from Stinger performance. They sell a complete kit that installs very easily.
STINGER PERFORMANCE PARTS - 2.3 Turbo Performance Parts for Mustang SVO, Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Merkur XR4Ti, Pinto, Ranger, and Sand Rails
Two simple fuel system upgrades: a walbro 255 high pressure pump and a 5.0L kirban fuel pressure regulator.
Just watch ebay for a ford T3 turbo and you'll be fine for that.
So the list would go this way:
fuel system and turbo
Then the exhaust stuff
Then get all the port work done
You'll be left with a fun and reliable car.
