Default Where is the ACT sensor?

I have a 2.3l turbo motor from a 86 tbird turbo coupe. I need to know where the Air Charge Temperature sensor is located on the motor. I have an open sensor on the back of the lower intake plenum, facing the firewall. But that sensor does match up with the new ACT sensor i got from the parts store for reference. And i cant thread the new sensor into that location because the threads on the new sensor are too small. But the sensor i bought fits the harness plug.??????????????

Can someone please give me as much info as they can on the ACT for these motors.. Thanks

No problem. ACT screws into the intake and senses the air temp. Can't remember where could be in lower or upper. There is three sensers in the intake system. Center between #2 and #3 injector is the ECT sensor. Second is a sensor that screw into a blind hole. [in other words a hole that has a bottom] It senses knocks. The 3rd is act it screw in the intake and tip is in the air stream of the intake. So can see by that looking at last two can tell.

Thanks. Ok so that sensor on the back of the lower plenum that i was talking about, is the ACT sensor i just need a reducer fitting to make the new sensor work. But i have one more question. On the right side of the lower plenum right next to the act, there is a coolant hose that runs back around the the motor to the heater core. So its got me wondering if this sensor on the back is actually in the air stream?????

I am sorry I did forget one sensor. There is one in the lower intake near that hose that goes to the side of the engine. On mine it is a 1 wire sensor that turns my radiator fan motor on. Also this picture may help. http://www.turbotbird.com/ Now go to FAQ and then look in engine section at "sensor and device location picture" . Has picture with all sensors marked. I would do a link but after going there you will understand not able to do. This would good one for you to save.
