trans. The problem is the shifter location. If put it a Mustang shifter would be in dash. Seen a picture of a t-5 in a Ranger and the person had to cut notch out of seat. You can make it a heavier duty one by this link.
Project Frankentranny – AKA A4LD / 4R55E / 5R55E Hybrid Project - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts Serious Explorations A4LD to Frankentranny Rebuild - Glacier Questions? - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts Serious Explorations A A4LD can be built for 300hp engine. You have another option I just thought of. A c-4 can be installed behind the 2.3 like me. A c-4 maybe more available. The c-4 bellhousing maybe have to locate. [Came out of late 70's Pinto] Some come over e-bay. If want to go that route, let me know I can provide info.
Some other info maybe there if do some searching. As far as going turbo. For you not having easy access to parts. Turboford.net has a good search. A donar car is best way. But finding a turbocoupe there maybe a problem. It can be done to a Normal 2.3 with some knowledge and parts. If interested let me know can furnish links. Maurice
