Default Identiying My Automatic Transmission Type

Hi there, I have a 1993 Coupe. Its not an LX! I'm trying to figure out which automatic transmission type I have, its a 5 speed automatic. I'm sure this is a really noob question but I don't care, I've looked at the manual, my Hanes manual, even crawled under to see if it's written somewhere on there. I found the vin information online still no luck. AOD? A4LD? or something? I just wanna be sure when I do the swap. Yeah..if I can't figure this out how can I do swap eh.. Don't worry its not my daily driver, Imma just dive in.

I'm sure one of you Lustangs can tell me exactly what tranny it is in like 3.2 seconds so...

It's an A4LD, and it's only a 4speed.

Pictures of trans. I know Ranger site but has good writeup and pictures of trans. Also a4ld also came in them with a 2.3.

Default Tranny swap

I have a 1990 lx that's an a4ld, and just a heads up you need to know how many wires it has two or three. Just make sure you buy the right one.

a 2.3l a4ld. what other option was there than lx? a 2.3l N/A in any year was an lx, and a overdrive tranny from 87 to 93 was a a4ld in a 2.3l, so if the car is NOT an LX what is it? not trying to be a jerk but you've got me confused.

I dunno my VIN tells me its just a 1993 Mustang and some vins I enter come up with an LX in the title. I thought LX came with some different options, but maybe your right. Maybe someone else can tell us for sure.
