Default dis module question

I have a 1991 mustang with a 2.3l and the dis module keeps messing up I can take it off and put fresh dielectric grease on it and it will run for a week or so and then wont start again until I put somemore grease on it. Does anyone know what causes this any help would be apprieciated.

Hey ya i had the same problem you had, the dis module would keep shutting down then coming back and it was just getting annoying. Just go to your local junk yard and pick one up, mine was 50$ no big deal, grease it up with the dielectric grease and its good to go. you can purchuse a new one for about 350$$ (canadian) thats what i got quoted, but i talked to one of my friends who is a ford senior mechanic and he told me not to bother with the new one because the failure rate of the dis modules is very low, ( i gues you were just luck )

just got mine replaced. go to the junkyard / shop online first. i think its like $270. if youre having issues with it fix it dont just let it keep doing what its doing.

so far shes running great. its nice to have some power back.
