Default 1990 lx 2.3 cold air intake swap?

Hey i have a question for anyone who can help. I tried fabbing up my own cold air intake for my stang, and was wondering how i can hook up the two vacuum lines from the stocb air box? the reason being is as soon as i disconnected them my heater blew only cold air, and it was stinking cold up here. it took me a long time to figure out what the heck was going on, not to mention i thought the heater core went out, so i spent 12 hours tearing the dash in and out to replace it. that sucked!

can i just plug those lines or do they need to be attached to the intake. Thanks for your time.

Yeah plug it. Then move the line and hide it somewhere. When I first registered here I had a problem with that line your about to plug. When it was plugged into that thing on the air box it would act up and bog bad until I unplugged it. Don't know why.

I've had a intake hooked up on my car now for a while and never thought that could affect the heater.... how does that work?

(I'm not doubting you, just curious.)

ALSO I was wondering if just getting a K&N filter to put in my stock air box and run a straight aluminum pipe to that would be better than my cheap autozone filter that is impossible to oil.

Sorry to jack your thread

Default intake answer maybe

well i know that 2.3 liters are really fussy with all of their vaccum lines, and by unpluggind the top line in the air box i no longer had vaccum pressure to that line so it wouldnt open up the thermostat. so my advise, alway make sure you know what you are unplugging and what it might affect so you dont spend a weekend tearing your dash out to find out is was a little line you unplugged. Oh well i got very familiar with my little pony.

and no worries about asking the question, thats why we all are here. to help each other with our quanderies.
