Default Put New Clutch + Ring Gear in...

Thought I'd give those following my little repairs an update:

-Everything went without a hitch, dropped the transmission under an hour.

-My pressure plate was right ****ed, right down to the rivets and even the springs were scraped up.

-Flywheel needed a turning BADLY, got it done for 30 bucks.

-Popped the pivot nut (or w/e you call it) no problem, although it was warped too.

-I was right, ring gear was completely ****. many teeth were shaven.

-Everything went back in, even the driveshaft went without a fuss.

Torqued everything up to (I hope) the appropriate specs.

All that for less than $300! Did it myself, no b/s labor costs.
--------------------------

One question:

I recently replaced the starter drive assembly. It still makes a fake scrape sound, which I think means it is hanging for a crank.

Would that be the starter, or something to do with the solenoid??

Thanks again!

You know, I abso-fricken-lutely noticed the difference. I never realized how bad mine slipped.

But now I can go easily 100KM doing only 3300RPM.

Not bad for a 2.3!

I think i got you beat IXXBC. i put mine in for only 54.82. plus 20 for the flywheel resurfaced. so $74.82 altogether. and i also felt the power. I never thought id get so much pull out of this 2.3. I was like DAMN when i put it in 1st. and let go it jerked my head bak a lil bit and the tire squeled for a second also. i have just put 248 miles on my new clutch. and its driving great. i was burning out everywhere. i even raced this 240SX (nissan) yesterday. NOthing too dramatic but i kicked his ass. After that i drove my stang to a place where there is dirt roads and i was drifting around some bushes.LOL. next thing i want to do is Swap my rear end for this 3.08 trak lok 7.5 that i got off this guy in the next town. He said it came off of a 94 or 95 GT. So i hope this will add some more juice. Will post when i got it in.
