Default I need Mustang Help!!!!!

My 1987 Mustang is driving me crazy! It has the 2.3L and when it runs, it runs great. However, it has this wierd problem with draining the battery, and then not wanting to start even when hooked up to jumper cables. Sometimes it will start after a few minutes of charging, and sometimes I'll turn the key and the domelight will go out, the door chime stops and it acts like its dead. I'm stumped!

it might not be your battery going dead it could be a bad or corrodid ground wire. iv had this problem on mine before. check to see if the battery terminals are clean to. you would be surprised what bad condoctivity can do to a car

This may be crazy, but do you have the right battery in the car? Check with the dealer to make sure the battery is large enough for the draw on it.

I had an old pontiac with the same issue and found we put a larger battery and it never acted up again!

+1 Either the ground cable is loose on one end or both ends or it's corroded.
